I Am Filipino

Art Exhibit

A creative exhibit entitled “I am Filipino,” was put together by Mabuhay Restop with 12 talented Filipino artists from different mediums, some of whom are icons and some are young upcoming ones. The art exhibit is based on a powerful poem with the same title penned by Atty. Alex Lacson, who wrote it with the hope that it will “develop in us and in our children a healthy sense of faith and live in the Filipino, and in ourselves as a people.”Mabuhay Restop engaged the artists to render their artistic interpretation of particular excerpts of the poem. “We believe that the poem is a beautiful articulation of who we are as Filipinos, and how wonderful to have it immortalized by a wide range of talented Filipino artists,” says Mabuhay Restop owner Cabrera.

The “I am Filipino” permanent exhibit may be enjoyed for free in Rizal Park’s Relief Map of the Philippines, and a mini-replica of the exhibit is indoors at the Mabuhay Restop art gallery. The exhibit is a part of Mabuhay Restop’s “Bayan Tour.”The contributing artists to the “I am Filipino” exhibit are:
